MANDY'S TAKE
“With 46% oats, some nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and a 4 Health Star Rating, this bar may seem like a smart choice. But don’t let the rating mislead you.The second and third ingredeint are glucose syrup and refined vegetable oil, and invert sugar syrup is also listed high on the ingredients panel.
These ultra-processed sweeteners, even in modest amounts, can reshape taste preferences, disrupt metabolism, and contribute to long-term health concerns — particularly in children. While it’s less artificial than some supermarket bars, it still leans heavily on processed ingredients. If you’re aiming for real, minimally processed foods, this bar doesn’t quite measure up.”

THE VERDICT
This is a decent bar with some wholefood ingredients, but the inclusion of glucose syrup, invert syrup, and refined sunflower oil pushes it firmly into the processed category. It’s a better option than many, but still falls short of being truly real food. Does it deserve a 4-star Health Star Rating? In my view, no — especially when ultra-processed sweeteners are linked to a range of poor health outcomes.
